Outdoor Fun with Fun Stampers Journey

Welcome to the Amazing Journey Blog Hoppers Hop! This month’s theme is Outdoor Fun.  I'm so happy you're hoppin' along! If you arrived here from Ruth’s blog, you're on the right track. If not, that's ok too! Just continue the hop and you'll come full circle!"

One of my favorite things about Fun Stampers Journey is their price point. You can get this high quality red rubber stamp for less than $8.  That is a win in my book!  An even better win is being able to get it for free when hosting a party with me.

I also love that they have a mixed media line for me to play with. The background on this card was created by simply applying modeling paste with the falling petals stencil and sprinkling with Sparkle Dust while it was still wet.

The coloring that I added to the stamped image is with Pan Pastels. Fun Stampers Journey has a partnership with this company so that we have colors that match our line.

My most favorite product Fun Stampers Journey has is the dies with the piercing elements. I love that I can just cut, or just have the holes poked, or I can have both. More often than not I choose both.

You're a Star!

This card will be headed half way across the country to TX where my daughter is serving in the Army. I miss being able to wrap my arms around her and feel her, but am proud of the young strong woman she is becoming.

For this card, I used Sweet Berry cardstock as the base with a panel of whip cream cardstock. I squirted a little paint on my pallet and mixed gel medium with it, then spread it on the paper through the falling petals stencil. I then used the same paint to color a couple of the Wood Chips that I got for free because I bought more than $50 worth of merchandise by FSJ. That's a feature called Bloom Benefits that I love!  The Stamp I used was also a Bloom Benefit in 2015-2016.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog. All comments are greatly appreciated.

God's Promises

Welcome to our Fun Stampers Journey "April Showers" Blog Hop! I'm so happy you're hoppin' along! If you arrived here from Ruth Cooper's blog, you're on the right track. If not, that's ok too! Just continue the hop and you'll come full circle!

After the flood hundreds of years ago, God promised Noah that He would never again destroy the whole earth with a flood.  To seal this promise, God created the rainbow to put in the sky for us to see after a rain shower.  Every time I see a rainbow, I'm reminded of the many promises such a loving God has for me.  I may not like all the promises (I believe that he also promises to reprimand us when we do not follow the directions he has given), but there are many many more promises of joy and blessings that happen when we do follow the directions he's given us in the Bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth)

Here's the card that I I created for this hop:

I must confess that this is not original to me.  I saw it while spending a little time on pinterest.  Here's the link to the original.  As soon as I saw this, I knew that it would be very easy to recreate with the dies from Fun Stamper's Journey.

First I used the Journey Rectangles Die cut and the Journey Circles die cut, and then selected threads from my stash of DMC floss.  I decided to stitch in every other hole so that the white would show.

Here's a picture of the back.  When I got to the end of where I wanted one color to show, I simply tied it to the next color.

Thanks for hopping to my blog. Please head over to Sharon Venclauskas' blog to see what he/she has to share.

Happy

Are you surprised to see yet another card using the Journey Modeling Paste? It's so much fun to work with, you really shouldn't be.  I used another stamp from one I had in my stash, and I used Distress Inks for the background.  Once again, I used my Journey Rectangles to  frame the sentiment.  This time I used a rectangle that was too big.  This is simple to do.  Center the sentiment on one end of the rectangle and piercing die and run through the Journey Grand, re-position the die using the piercing holes to line it up and run it through again.

Good Day!

Sweet Berry Acrylic Paint mixes so well with Journey Modeling Paste to create a different look.

I used the Journey Rectangles to frame the phrase.  There wasn't a rectangle the right size, so I simply put the phrase with the rectangles half off the cutting plates, re-positioned using the pierced holes as a guide, and cut the other half.

The blue of the background is actually a Distress Ink which I applied and then wiped off of the colored paste so that the pink pops.

Fear and Faith

I am having so much fun with the Journey Modeling Paste!  The difference between it and the Journey Gel Medium is that the Gel medium is clear and glossy while the paste is white with a matte finish. The design was created with the Stained Glass- Stencil. Items used from my stash were the maroon pearls and the stamp.

I love love love the Journey Rectangles! I don't think I'll ever use my piercing mat and piercer again for a rectangle shape (as long as I can keep a set instead of letting someone else buy them from me which has happened twice in my first month!)
